I HEART DANCING

February 8, 2018

So we are carrying on with our late winter activities. I always find this is a good time of year to add in a few weeks of here and there of elective ideas of dance.   I hope the students enjoyed our week of visual art and in two weeks from now we will have a guest teacher coming to incorporate some yoga and intensive body conditioning stretches to the older girls classes.

One of the great benefits of ballet is not just the learning to dance but the mental ability to stay focused which I am always proud of my students in that respect... that said this time of year can be less exciting then when we are progressing towards shows or studying hard for our technical assessments.... insert the candy dish, extra props and a Valentines party! hahahah

Next week Monday is Family day and there will be classes as usual.

Also like i said, it is Valentines week so if everyone wishes to come a little fancy I am waving the dress code and they may all wear whatever feels a bit festive :)

Onto notes about the future, we will be starting to talk about our year end pieces. Seems early to think of that but actually once we break for spring break we are right on track to have a polished show.

One exciting little hush hush note (not announced yet, watch for some great posters soon)  is that we have the Smoke Eaters excited to be guest performers in our show, they will be a finale piece

(a choreographed routine they will be rehearsing with me this spring, in full swan lake costume ... omg how FUN!)

The organization is really excited to help us promote our show. How lucky to have great community support!

Enjoy the sunshine out there today everyone!
